Heal Your Gut

Heal-Your-Gut-3d-coverSo excited to be finally launching my new eBook Heal Your Gut!

I hope that you'll enjoy the book, it's a culmination of my personal quest for healing and everything I have learnt along the way to bring my health back into balance.

It's an informative, uncomplicated and achievable gut healing protocol which will inspire, motivate and bring about true healing to your body minus the expensive supplements and faddish diet trends.

The natural four week protocol is not scary and honors the body as a whole.  The healing program is divided into four phases for you to follow one step at a time, and in your own time.  What I think you'll embrace about this book is that it's not dictatorial and takes you into account as an individual on your own healing pathway.

My Healing Manifesto

Heal Your Gut encourages you to work with your natural gut flora in a positive and supportive way, and not fight against it as an unwelcome and unruly opponent.  It provides step by step guidance on how to bring your gut flora into balance with food to achieve optimum and enduring health.

Heal Your Gut features over fifty sweet and savoury recipe inspirations, drawing on whole foods and a kaleidoscopic rainbow of healing ingredients.  There are simple solutions for blood sugar, energy maintenance and gut healing and it covers breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert.  There are also delicious snacks and beverages to indulge in.

The eBook includes step by step guidelines on how to heal your gut, and gives information on self-love and living with flexibility and not rigidity. It features personalised anecdotes to bring healing closer to home, and demonstrates that healing is truly possible.

The book also connects with the emotional, stress and brain related aspects of gut health.  Recognising the activity of cortisol in the body, meeting the Vegus Nerve, and really learning to belly breathe through fears and worries is just one crucial part to healing from within.

There are chapters covering the gut and immune system connection and the two-way interdependent relationship between the gut and the brain.  The book also covers lifestyle factors which contribute to gut health such as such as cleaning products and beauty products.

This isn’t a book to just read, I urge you to interact with it, print it out and make notes in the margins, scribble on it and make it your own wellness plan. This is your book and I have written it for you.  Read more and purchase the eBook here.

Hi Lee, can I ask if your ebook is specifically based on the Paleo Autoimmune Protocol (ie no legumes, nightshades, eggs, seeds/nuts etc?) I am coeliac with autoimmune and other issues, and while I eat grain and sugar free with minimal dairy, it’s not enough so was about to embark on this style of diet for a while to reduce inflammation. I’m also looking for a suitable program which includes a fairly definitive list of ‘allowed’ foods, as I like the flexibility of putting my own meals together too.
Also, do you offer coconut-free options? I have very strong sensitivity to coconut but obviously everything paleo-style relies very heavily on it – it’s endlessly frustrating!
I also really appreciate that you are addressing emotional/stress issues etc. in this book – I honestly feel that I am on the verge of a breakdown as I watch my life disintegrate, thanks to declining health issues.
Hope you can help me! Thanks 🙂

Hi Liesel, no it’s not specifically paleo it is a protocol which helps to heal your gut using easily digestible foods they are gluten, wheat, dairy, yeast and sugar free but there is flexibility for you to eat to your own requirements it’s not coconut heavy it’s based on a long term gut healing program not a fad restrictive diet. Hi Lee,

I am currently following the protocol in your eBook but I am finding that I am really hungry. Probably because I am used to eating morning tea and afternoon tea. Should I just add additional portions of soup or veg mash or is there a certain type of snacks that I should be eating (I am in the first week of the protocol).

    Thanks
    Brodie

    • lee says:

Yes you can add extra portions of the soups and mash and you can snack on cooked veg, smoothies and the dessert recipes too

Hi Lee. The timing of your ebook is impeccable as it seems like my body is fed up with any time of food I consume. I am currently being treated for ‘leaky gut’ by a naturopath but there doesn’t seem to be much improvement. I downloaded your book last night and am really keen to start on your recommendations. I have a few questions, though, as there seems like there is a little bit of conflict in what you’re saying. In the “Foods to Avoid” section, you say to steer clear of starchy vegetables, like carrot, sweet potato, etc but then you include a recipe for Savory Smashed Root Vegetables in your Weekly Planner example. I am not trying to nit-pick but I’m in a pretty weak place right now where I’m unsure of what is going to be good or bad for me. Any help would be great. Also, how do you feel about eating meat in phase 1? For example, when you say ‘Chicken Broth’, are you having the chicken WITH the broth or the broth only.

    Thanks Lee 🙂

    • lee says:

Hi Amanda, it’s ok to ask questions 🙂 I say in the book if you are craving a sweet snack then it’s better to indulge in the sweet root veg than sugar. So that is why the recipe is there. It is better to have chicken broth in liquid form to begin with as opposed to chicken fillets etc but again just take it at your own pace and level. Lee

Hi Lee. I just started reading Heal Your Gut and cannot put it down! I came across the detoxing with lemon part and it says to “click here to find out how to make a natural lemon and garlic detox drink.” There isn’t a hyperlink to click and I haven’t been able to find the recipe on your website. Would you be able to share that with me? Thanks!!

    • lee says:

Yes sure here you go: Fill the kettle with filtered water, boil and let cool. Use ½ a fresh lemon or 3 TBS freshly squeezed juice with no additives and place in a cup or heat resistant glass with 1 tsp crushed garlic. (can be strained if you prefer). Drink first thing in the morning some people like to drink it through a straw as the acid in lemon can affect your tooth enamel. Wait 20-30 minutes before eating. If you are out and about you can ask for hot water and lemon and most places and cafes will be able to accommodate you.

  5. Susan Grieve says:

Can this be easily adjusted for a vegetarian diet?

    Thanks

Is Heal you Gut Book available in hard copy or only e book

  7. Olivia says:

Hi Lee – I have your book and have started the protocol. I just have a few questions 1) any tips for not smelling/ stinking of garlic all the time? 2) I think the garlic may be giving me gas – is that a sign my digestion is not copying with it? 3) a lot of the soups have coconut milk in them – which I need to be careful of do you have any other suggestions that will stay taste good? 4) I also have candida so the use of nutritional yeast ok? Thank you – enjoying a lot of your recipes & hoping I will feel better soon too.

    • lee says:

Chewing on parsley is good to remove garlic breath. Yes some people can react to garlic, if it’s a problem for you swap it out with the green part of the spring onion in recipes. Yes swap out coconut milk for nut or seed milk in recipes too. The nutritional yeast flakes don;t feed candida so they are ok they are a deactivated form of yeast not like brewers yeast. 🙂

  8. Roslyn says:

Hi Lee, Is the hardcover book exactly the same as the e-book?

  9. Liza says:
