The most important step to
detoxifying your body is to eat
a nutrient-dense diet along with the supplements
I have recommended.
The diet not only detoxifies but also heals the body from any health issues. A beneficial detox diet consists of eating healthy protein sources from meat, eggs and fish along with fats which are beneficial such as extra virgin cold pressed olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil as well natural animal fats and fish oils which contain omega-3 essential fatty acids. These good fats are excellent at helping the body to eliminate toxins and heavy metals as well as pulling out nutrients from food to assist the healing process. Sea salt is an excellent food to sprinkle on meals as it also pulls nutrients from foods. Once you improve your digestion this will in turn greatly improve detoxification. Eating a protein source or lacto-fermented foods such as Kim Chi or Sauerkraut increases stomach acid which stimulates the gall bladder, helping the digestive process. Foods that feed the skin include foods that are rich in lecithin, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants such as eggs, organ meats, a balance of Omega-3-6-9 oils fresh dark green leafy vegetables, tomatoes and berries of all kinds.
Natural Lemon Detox
Lemons are a fantastic detoxifier and have amazing digestive qualities. Drinking lemon juice in water daily is not only a good detoxifier but also alleviates symptoms of indigestion stomach pain and bloating. By drinking lemon juice regularly, the bowels are aided in eliminating waste more efficiently thus controlling constipation and diarrhoea. Lemon also helps the body to obtain the energy from the nutrients in food. There are many great reasons why lemons should be included in your daily diet. Lemons are high in nutrients and bioflavanoids and are an excellent source of vitamin B6, iron and potassium, and a very good source of dietary fibre and vitamin C. They also contain calcium, copper, folic acid, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus and zinc. Lemon Juice is Anti-Bacterial and particularly good when used as a gargle for sore throats or mouth ulcers. Lemon juice is antiseptic, fighting disease-causing bacteria and also extremely good for the skin as they are a natural exfoliant.
How to Make a Natural Lemon Detox Drink
Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a glass of warm water. Drink twice a day. Preferably upon rising and before meals.
If you are planning on exercising why not stir yourself up something tasty and refreshing. Just fill your water bottle with purified water, add a teaspoon of sea salt and the juice of a lemon.
When you have a bath with Epsom salts, the magnesium sulphate is absorbed through the skin, and draws toxins from the body. It also sedates the nervous system to relax you completely, reduces swelling, relaxes muscles, relieves muscular aches and pains and is also a natural emollient and exfoliator. The best way to make an Epsom salt bath is to add two standard cups of Epsom salts to a warm bath whilst the water is running. Once the bath is add the right level and temperature for you climb in slowly and let your body soak for 15-20 minutes. Epsom salts can be used for a variety of beauty purposes too.
As a Facial Cleanser: mix a half-teaspoon of Epsom salts with a tablespoon of yoghurt and massage into skin and rinse with luke warm water. If you prefer a thicker cleanser add a teaspoon of oatmeal.
Avocado skin mask: For normal to oily or dry skin, mix 1 egg, 1/4 cup of yoghurt, the juice of 1 lemon, and a half-teaspoon of Epsom salts. Apply the mask to damp skin. Leave on for 10 minutes and then rinse off with luke warm water.
Skin Exfoliator: Epsom Salts are a fantastic exfoliator to remove dead skin cells and rejuvenate tired looking skin. Massage half a cup of Epsom salt over your wet skin whilst you are in the shower. Dont forget to rinse off.
Shampoo: As Epsom salt soaks up excess oil from hair it can be added to your favourite shampoo when your hair is extra oily. Add about a quarter of a cup while you are shampooing. When it comes time for conditioning pour lemon juice through the hair for a natural rinse.
The skin is the largest most important eliminative organ in the body and is responsible for one quarter of the bodys detoxification each day. Dry skin brushing stimulates the lymphatic system, liver and adrenal glands, and assists these organs in decongesting and dumping out their toxins as well as giving the body a gentle internal massage. It also increases the ability of the liver and adrenal glands to handle toxins, strengthens the immune system and stimulates circulation. The practice of Dry Skin Brushing has been used for thousands of years around the world as a natural way of detoxing the body. Dry brushing is also used as a preventative for dry skin. The exfoliating affect stimulates skin renewal and removes dead skin layers. It is fantastic for removing cellulite and tightens the skin to prevent premature aging and the best thing is its easy, inexpensive and very good for you.
How to Do Dry Skin Brushing
Buy a bath brush which contains natural bristles and not synthetic ones as synthetic bristles scratch the surface of the skin and can be harsh and irritating. The brush should be kept dry and not used for bathing. A longer handled brush works well for finding out of reach places. Its a good idea to wash the brush with soap and water every couple of weeks. When dry skin brushing make sure that your skin is completely dry, and the brush should pass once over every part of the body except the face. The best time to do skin brushing is before showering or bathing at least once a day. You dont need to use a back and forth motion, circular motion, scrubbing, or massaging - one clean sweep does it. Use long gentle, but firm, stokes. Begin with you feet and continue brushing upwards, be gentle on the chest.
Detoxing Enemas & Royal Flush
The use of enemas and flushes for detoxification purposes is well known. It is a common remedy that has been suggested by holistic and alternative medicine professionals for many years.
The benefits of coffee enemas for detoxification are great. Coffee enemas decongest and flush the liver and the adrenals and help the entire body detoxify. Many people have experienced tremendous relief of their symptoms and renewed energy levels after doing coffee enemas. Filtered water and a coffee powder can be used as an effective and inexpensive alternative to a colon cleansing. Coffee enemas are recommended once per week, and they help to flush out toxins and aid digestion.
Salt water flushes
Using a salt water flush is one of the easiest, cheapest and quickest ways to clean you colon at home. Salt water flushes also cleanse your stomach and small intestine, flushing out your entire digestive system removing all of the toxins and bacteria from your whole digestive tract.
There are multitude of laxatives, enemas, and cleansing products on the market, but quite simply a salt water flush works just as well as anything else and is much healthier alternative. The best time to do a SWF is first thing in the morning. Fill a cup with one litre of warm filtered water. Add one heaped tablespoon of Celtic Sea Salt. Add the juice of half a lemon and Stevia if you would like to sweeten the taste. Drink slowly and await the results! You will feel lighter and more energised.
