When it comes to being healthy an alkaline body is key, sometimes it’s hard to keep your unique body alkaline with all of the foods available on the supermarket shelves. From fast food, processed and refined carbohydrates to ready meals stating to be ‘healthy’ it really is a minefield out there.

If you’re on a journey to rebalance your bodies alkalinity in order to restore wellness and health, or if you’re looking to maintain your glowing 7.4 on the ph scale, a green powder supplement is a great way to do so without having to overhaul your daily diet.

I’m a huge advocate of a balanced lifestyle, not being too strict as to stress about what you’re putting in your body, but making sure that what goes in is healthy and nourishing. And so I’m aware that some healthy foods I digest on a daily basis, like dairy products and meat, can increase the acidity in my body.

Green Supergrass is a supercharged way to lower your body’s acidity. With a daily smoothie including this powerful leaf based nutrition supplement can really help me manage ph levels.

I love the fact that this product is simple yet uses three of the most potent young leaves and mixes them together to create a perfect alkalising blend of nutritional supplement full of amazing green goodness.

These potent young guns are Barley Grass, Wheat Grass and Alfalfa Grass. All containing powerful antioxidants from vitamin B1 (a memory boosting antioxidant), Vitamins C and E (antioxidants which provide protection to cells against free radical damage), Vitamins K and U.

All grasses being extremely alkaline means that digesting them can help keep the body's alkaline and acidity ratio balanced. Our cells cannot adequately function if the pH range (which measures alkaline and acidity) is out.

Most processed foods are acidic, and when we consume too many of them, the acidity/alkaline balance is upset. This may result in possible fatigue and low energy levels.

I love that Green Nutritionals have left out the 'filler' ingredients, such as bulk fibre and insignificant amounts of herbs and synthetic vitamins that provide little to no health benefits, ensuring that gram for gram you receive the most nutrient-rich and bio-available super food supplement possible.

Green SUPERGRASS is produced sustainably and in harmony with nature and that always gets my seal of approval!  You can find out more about it here.

Smoothie recipes seem to be taking over the world quicker than Usain Bolt runs the 100m.

It’s amazing how many ingredients you can pack into a smoothie! But for my green smoothie, I like to keep it simple and use a few key ingredients along with my favourite Green Superfoods Powder from Green Nutritionals.

Super foods are exactly that, foods that have been found to have super hero qualities! They’re often loaded with nutrients far beyond what is considered to be the norm providing the body with an unbeatable amount of nutrients in one small sitting.

Green Nutritionals have combined the world’s top five nutrient-rich foods which can easily be added soups, smoothies, juices or breakfast bowls.

For over twenty years they’ve produced organic products with 100% transparency starting the journey from where the ingredients are sourced, all the way through to how they are manufactured.

Green Superfoods uses the purest ingredients, free from toxic fertilisers and bacteria killing chemicals.

Every teaspoon includes Hawaiian Spirulina, Yaeyama Chlorella, Australian Organic Alfalfa and Barleygrass and Organic Marine Plant Minerals- the five most potent green super foods.

Adding a scoop to your daily smoothie or green juice will really give your immune system boost and alkalise and energise the body.

Here are some of the amazing benefits of greening up your smoothies and soups:

The added nutrients and antioxidants will allow your body to feel alert and awake for longer and make sure you stay on top of your health.

  1. Fight off the chemicals

Nature’s Way Whole Foods Vitamins

If you’re looking for a way to include more vitamins and minerals in your diet in addition to food, then choosing the most natural versions over synthetic alternatives is a must.
Many vitamin supplements on the market are synthetic and often contain additives, fillers, GMO ingredients, soy, hidden MSG, sugar, hydrogenated oils, artificial colors and other nasties.
Synthetic vitamins are manufactured in laboratories to mimic the way natural vitamins act in our bodies whereas natural vitamins are derived directly from plant material containing the vitamin, offering the full nutritional benefit of natural whole foods.
It’s important to include a range of macro and micro nutrients in our diets and whole foods are the most natural way to do that.  Vitamins and minerals act as cofactors in our bodies, they're like a missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle that is essential for our enzymes to work.
The Nature’s Way new range of vitamins called The Whole Foods range is 100% vegan and derived from natural vegetable extracts and don’t  contain animal products, gluten or lactose. They’re a great way to top up your daily nutritional requirements via a natural food based vitamin.
You’ll find a Women’s Multi and Men’s Multi, Magnesium Powder, Vitamin C and Vitamin D3 in the range.  They’re easy to swallow and include nature’s wealth of fruits, veggies and herbs from gardens, orchards, farms and even the ocean to deliver a full spectrum of nature’s benefits.
Magnesium is an incredible supplement to take as it’s a muscle relaxant and ideal for relieving stress, enabling sleep, muscle recovery post exercise and pre-menstrual cramps.  The Nature’s Way Magnesium Powder comes from natural marine magnesium, organic spinach, quinoa, chlorella and maca, which delivers 325mg of elemental magnesium per serve.
The Vitamin C is sourced from vitamin C rich fruits such as camu and acerola, and the Vitamin D3 from Lichen is one of the only plants on the planet that provides Vitamin D3.  Multivitamins for men and women offer benefits from over 27 fruits, vegetables and herbs.
As an advocate for whole food, I want to support brands that make an effort to go back to natural, real ingredients so I’m very pleased that we can now safely consume vitamins made from real food too.  And as I like to often say: when in doubt… eat whole food and if you’re time poor or have problems digesting food and need supplementation always look for a non-synthetic and natural vitamin or mineral supplement such as Nature’s Way Whole Foods.

Written by lee on . Posted in Food & Drinks, Ingredients, Natural Products, Reviews

Green superfoods with glass strawsWhen it comes to being healthy, sometimes it’s hard to figure out what is truly good for you and your unique bod, especially with all of the conflicting messages that are coming at you at lightning speed.

Whether you’re on a journey to wellness or you are already there, a green powder supplement is a great way to recharge your body daily without all of the fuss of a multitude of supplements and sugar filled drinks.

I am a huge advocate of sourcing as many nutrients from my food as I can; but for many people who don’t always have the time to source fresh ingredients or may have problems with digestion and assimilation; a green powder can really help to get them on the road to healthy living.

In today’s fast paced lifestyle sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of things and usually it’s our own health that can suffer in the process.  When you’re in a rush to get out of the door in the morning and you’re low on fresh veg in the fridge a quick slurp of a green powder can really help to give you a direct source of nutrients and boost your energy for the day ahead.

Green Superfoods is a supercharged way to spike your daily smoothie with powerful plant based nutrition plus it can really take the edge of drinking kale straight!

I love the fact that this product is simple yet uses the five most potent super foods and mixes them together to create a wiz-bang nutritional supplement full of amazing green goodness.

So what are these five fantastic foods? Hawaiian Spirulina (a highly nutritious salt water plant that contains rich vegetable proteins); Yaeyama Chlorella (a fresh water blue-green alga with an abundance of vitamins and minerals); Australian Organic Alfalfa (a herbal powerhouse); Barley grass (made from the powdered dehydrated leaves of organically grown barley plants); and organic marine plant minerals in a calculated dose to give you the optimum in multi-green nutritional supplementation.

I love that they have left out are the 'filler' ingredients, such as bulk fibre and insignificant amounts of herbs and synthetic vitamins that provide little to no health benefits, ensuring that gram for gram you receive the most nutrient-rich and bio-available superfood supplement possible

GreenSUPERFOODS are produced sustainably and in harmony with nature too and that always gets my seal of approval!  You can purchase it in powder or vegetable capsule form.
